Sitting too much? A standing desk might be the answer
If you’re working in an office, you might inadvertently be in for future health complications. Based on a recent story by NPR , individuals who spend a lot of time sitting during the week face a far greater risk of heart related illnesses than do those who are more physically active. The NPR article quoted a researcher from South Carolina University who found that males who sat greater than 23 hours a week were 64 percent more likely to die from cardiovascular illnesses than were those who sat fewer than 11 hours in the average week.
